Goodbye Blogging and Hello 'What's new?'
This morning, it dawned on me, whilst talking to my marketing director (AKA my man), that maybe I don't want to BLOG because of all the baggage I associate with the term 'blogging'. Writing has never been my strong suit. I've tended to use other ways to express myself, for example, with my photos. My mind instantly goes blank when I try to think of relevant, funny, engaging content to share with those following my work or checking out my website. So in a bid to share more and keep people up to date with what I’ve been doing, I've decided to lose the word 'BLOG' and go with 'What's New?' Instantly this feels less daunting, and already I'm excited about sharing what I've been working on recently.
With the lockdown restrictions easing and as we tentatively start regaining some normalcy back to our lives, I've been so happy to get back into my little studio to work again. We've had a repaint, and I've bought lots of new soft furnishing which has given the space a much warmer, homely feel. I've invested too in more clothes for babies, toddlers, children and mums so that families have the option to use my client wardrobe if the thought of styling for a shoot is too much. Or for an alternative look.
Here's a shoot from last week in the studio. Don't let the serenity fool you; it was total carnage! Mumma even said, "I'm amazed that you managed to get any photos, as they didn't stay still". But without blowing my own trumpet too much, I think that's what I do best, finding the calm in the chaos and capturing those little moments of magic that you will one day look back at and remember with fondness.
